I am a writer first, a traveler second and a communications professional to finance both of those habits. I pride myself on being a truth seeker, a force for good, an optimist and an insatiable student of life.
I was born at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C., and have been in perpetual motion since, living in Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arizona, California and New York. I’ve traveled to 43 states and 34 countries, with a goal of deep travel in every state and 100 nations before I return to dust. I am grateful and humbled that I have been able to find an occupation and a husband that allow me to feed my perpetual wanderlust and sate my hunger to live an experiential life. Being a digital nomad has its challenges, which makes it all the sweeter when I work from my home office in the Greater Minneapolis, Minnesota area.
I have 20+ years of experience in communications, including content marketing and brand journalism, across a wide variety of vertical markets including health care, non-profits, finance and more. I am also an award-winning food, travel and features journalist, In my spare time, I blog about travel and the deeper discoveries borne from it. Through my travels and non-profit work, I have developed a passion for social justice and human rights issues, in particular the preservation of our precious drinking water supplies in the world.
It is a great honor to be a part of the Blue Door Consulting team, to learn from their incredibly skilled staff, and to work in service to their clients through creative copy writing, consultation and content editing.
I wouldn’t. I believe I am here in this time to witness and be a part of all the interesting change in our world.
I was once a television weather forecaster, although I had no training or ability to forecast. I basically reworded the National Weather Service reports and filled the rest of my time on air with semi-coherent babble.
Foodie. I follow my stomach around the world. (The street food in Thailand is the best!)
I love to cook! I read cookbooks before bed, like novels, and binge watch food and travel TV. Who’s hungry?
My grandfather was an actor; he appeared in several movies and TV shows. I have three degrees of Kevin Bacon.
A writer. While other little girls played with dolls, my friend and I wrote stories together. I wrote my first “novel” at age 8.
Walk the Camino Frances of the Camino de Santiago.
