Trey Tracy Portrait

Achiever, Restorative, Strategic, Learner, Competition

I’ve always been obsessed with knowing how things work and building something with my own hands.

As a child, my father would often come home from a long shift at work and find his $2,000 Compaq® Presario PC (he liked to remind me of the price) in pieces on the kitchen table. After much yelling, a friend and I would have it back together in minutes, working better than before, much to my dad’s surprise.

Throughout my career, I’ve maintained that same level of curiosity, searching for new and interesting technology-related topics and challenges. I love a good challenge and the serotonin rush I get from finding the perfect solution for myself or a client.

I graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology. While in school, I worked at Starbucks® as a barista and moonlighted with that same childhood friend at a web hosting company, offering web development and design services. This gave me invaluable real-world insight into web development, design and marketing. I felt like I had finally found my purpose.

After graduating, I moved to Chicago and it was love at first sight. Growing up in a small town, I had always dreamed of moving to a big city and starting a new life. I took that opportunity and much, much more. After moving, I began working with a wide variety of marketing and advertising companies, honing my skills over the years. I eventually found my home at Blue Door Consulting.

I enjoy spending time reading, working out, fishing and, of course, learning. I often get the bug to travel and find myself hiking the Path of the Gods overlooking the Amalfi Coast in Italy or sharing a Long Drink with some new friends in Finland. Wherever my life takes me, I always try to find a way to keep myself centered and focused on providing value to people while asking myself, “how may I serve?”

Foodie or Not

Definitely a foodie. I love trying sandwiches from different cities. My favorite so far was Primanti Bros. in Pittsburgh. It was originally a small stop for truckers to get a quick sandwich and take off. Can't go wrong with fries on a sandwich, served on wax paper!
