Blue Door named “Small Business of the Year”

Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce presents award at 2010 Annual Meeting

(OSHKOSH, Wis.) – Oshkosh, Wis.-based marketing, web and social media firm Blue Door Consulting received the 2010 ‘Small Business of the Year’ award from the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce at the community’s 103rd-annual Meeting and Recognition program, held on Nov. 1, 2010 at the Oshkosh Convention Center.

With a client list of more than 150 organizations and revenue growth of more than 120 percent since 2006, Blue Door Consulting provides a variety of marketing, public relations and business consulting services to local, regional and national companies, non-profit agencies and government organizations. Led by co-owners Heidi Strand and Brenda Haines, Blue Door Consulting’s nine-person team of tech-savvy communicators is excited to be recognized as ‘Small Business of the Year.’

‘Blue Door couldn’t have made it to this point without such a talented team,’ expressed Haines. ‘We are honored to receive this award from such respected members of our community.’

Since its inception, Blue Door Consulting’s specialty has evolved to focus on integrating technology, Web development and social media with marketing. These services now account for 30 percent of Blue Door Consulting’s business, compared to 10 percent in 2002, when Strand and Haines started the company.

‘First, we celebrate. Then, we’ll keep moving forward!’ said Strand, who named Blue Door Consulting after her home’s blue front door. ‘We are very grateful for this award and hope to continue witnessing growth and sparking innovation within clients in the future.’

The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce recognizes businesses and individuals that have made a significant impact in the city via its Annual Meeting and Recognition Program. ‘Small Business of the Year’ was one of 10 awards and special recognition given at the 2010 meeting.
