The CDC has recommended social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We know that not everyone has the ability to work from home. But for the folks who can, we’ve crowdsourced some tips to get your started.

Number one. Maintain structure around your workday. Team members may be juggling competing priorities. Encourage them to share the schedule they plan to work each day, so that your team can keep projects moving forward.

Number two. Encourage communication. To help team members adjust, clarify expectations regarding project schedules, shifting priorities and workload. If something is still unclear, just pick up the phone and call or video chat.

Number three. Provide training. Microsoft Teams™ or Slack™ are great messaging tools. Team members will be most successful if they feel confident in their tech abilities.

Number four. Maintain an open dialogue. Distractions like TV and media, sharing a home office or balancing workload with parenting priorities can be a challenge. If a team member is letting you down, just be open and let them know how they can improve.

We hope that these tips will help you support your team during this time. If you’re looking for more ways to stay connected with your team, give us a call. We’re here to help.

And, from our team to yours… stay well.
