Taylor Fischer Portrait

Includer, Positivity, Empathy, Maximizer, Woo

I graduated from Thomas Edison State University (it’s in New Jersey and nobody in the Midwest has ever heard of it) with a B.A. in Communications.

After graduation, I got a job at a small-town newspaper where I was the only reporter. That’s how small-town it was. I was covering two schools, town meetings, varsity sports, local events, anything and everything in between, and my absolute favorite – human interest stories.

I loved asking people questions that drew out the most interesting details of their story. Then, turning our interview into a personal news story.

After my stint as a journalist, I started freelance writing for online businesses. That’s where I found my love of building relationships, listening to someone talk about their life and writing stories, merged right into marketing.

When I’m not working, I love hanging out on (and in!) the rivers surrounding me here in Missouri. Float trips are my favorite. Other than that, reading books and getting my hands dirty weeding my tomato plants keeps me happy.

Foodie or not

I love to eat and try new foods. Now and then I whip up a new dish and *hope* it turns into a keeper.

Occupation in Another Life

I want to say rainforest explorer. Except I don’t know if I could handle all the bugs. And sleeping on the ground. And not taking showers.

Bucket List

Travel to every continent and learn to fly a very small airplane. I’m about .5% towards reaching that second goal (a pilot let me “fly” her little plane when I was 17).

What I Wanted to Be When I Grew Up

A nurse. It took a few years for me to realize I couldn’t handle that job!

Favorite Holiday

Fourth of July. Nothing better than a holiday in the middle of summer where you can play in the water and chow down on fantastic food and desserts!
